about the florist

Hi! I’m Grace Jones, owner and lead designer of Joneswell Flowers.

As a native of the North Carolina coastal plains, a frequenter of the North Carolina mountains, and now a resident of the Piedmont, I’ve forever been surrounded by the beautiful flora and fauna of this state. It is truly an inspiration for my work and a source of humbling gratitude for the beauty of the world.

I took several paths in college at North Carolina State University - from entering as an undecided freshman to focusing on Fashion and Textile Management and then Political Science - but I finally found my passion in floral design and business ownership. In fact, in seventh grade, our aptitude test found my top career choice to be florist! That recommendation has stuck with me for…a long time.

I’m so grateful for the 100+ couples who have entrusted me with their wedding flowers and I’m so eager to serve more of you. Thank you for visiting this website and reading about our small business.

a few more tidbits

  • My team is full of important people both in my business but also in my life! Chloe, Kelli, and Lexi keep me laughing, sane, and inspired. They’re beautiful, interesting, passionate, brilliant, and hardworking women I’m grateful to share time and create art with. This is the best job.

  • Why the name, Joneswell? Well, I thought I was going to create a calligraphy business, so I drew inspiration by the term “inkwell” and stuck my new last name in place of this medium. I figured Joneswell had a certain ring to it and it stuck with me. I pivoted to flowers instead and gave in to the sunk cost fallacy. Such is life.

  • While not flowering or cleaning up flowers, I spend my time reading the same book over and over again to my toddler and sharing yummy meals with my husband, Matt. Sometimes, a few scraps make their way to our dogs, Otis and Melva.
